Zahid Hamid MBE - Member (CHAIR)
Zahid was appointed as a Member in October 2018. Zahid came to the UK as the child of an economic migrant in 1962 and grew up in Sheffield and Gainsborough. After university he worked for over 20 years at Sheffield Education Department, then directly for the black communities in Yorkshire and afterwards for a national environmental charity. His roles have ranged from project worker to senior manager, chief executive and back after 30 years, (by choice), to project worker.
David Drayson - Member
David Drayson was appointed as a Member in August 2017. David is a former Pharmacist and Area Manager for Boots the Chemist. He has substantial experience as a school Governor, Academy and Multi-Academy Trust Trustee/Director and Member. He was Chair of Brigantia Learning Trust since its inception in 2014 up to September 2024.
David's association with Hinde House and then Brigantia Learning Trust started in the early 1990’s and has continued to the present time. David's personal unrelenting focus and passion has always been to help deliver life changes and aspirations to the young people of North East Sheffield.
Doug Liversidge CBE - Member
Doug Liversidge was appointed as a Member in August 2017. Doug is a prominent businessman and former Chairman of several Yorkshire companies.
Doug is also a former Chairman of the Sheffield TEC, South Yorkshire LSC and Cutlers Company Education Committee.
Nicola Rawlins - Member
Nicola Rawlins was appointed as a Member in December 2022. Nicola has been Group Director for Recruitment, Communications and Marketing at Sheffield Hallam University since 2019. She joined Sheffield Hallam in 2007 having previously worked in marketing and student.
Nicola was a governor of Hinde House School from 2007-2015 and then a Director of Brigantia Learning Trust from 2015-2019.
Nicola passionate about the role Sheffield Hallam plays in supporting improving educational outcomes and student success across South Yorkshire.
Dr Julie Edwards - Member
Dr Julie Edwards was appointed as a Member in March 2025 and brings with her a wealth of experience and achievements including professionally, earning a doctorate in Medical Ultrasound, undertaking a National Study on Medical Ultrasound whilst in her role as a Consultant for Public Health England, and in her personal life, raising £100k for local charities during her year as Mistress Cutler.
Julie has also worked within many young people’s organisations, including, assisting in the delivery of the “Expedition” section of the Duke of Edinburgh Award within a local Secondary school setting.
